College Rental Identity Fraud Scam
Scam/Fraud Info:This person led me on for weeks saying that they needed me to send them my address so they could send a check. I sent them the address for the check, but I didn't give them my personal address, only the address for the house that they were trying to rent. And when they sent the check, the check was from a very odd bank where the bank name didn't match the routing number directly. And she said that she sent more than she intended to by accident, which was also pretty sketchy. So then when my friend looked into it, he said this is a classic example of check fraud. And then when I looked up the email, I saw that they had also scammed somebody in the past. And I said, absolutely not. Thank goodness I called my friend about this first.
